Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water

Everyone knows that the festive season can leave your skin looking lifeless! Too much alcohol, late nights, party makeup and no exercise all leave your skin looking washed out.

So, to revitalise your skin simply follow our three tips below, all of which will leave your skin looking renewed and refreshed.

1. Ditch the chocolate – festive food can leave your skin looking uneven and irritated, so chuck out the stodge and stock up on veg, protein and wholegrain – you’ll soon start to see the difference.
2. Rehydrate – all that alcohol over the festive period will serious sap your skin of its moisture, so try to drink between 1.5 and 2 litres of water a day to make sure you’re fully hydrated
3. Catch up on some sleep – all those late nights celebrating Christmas and the New Year can leave you looking less fresh, so aim to get around 8 hours of sleep per night to ensure you stay looking your best.

Dress £50, River Island

It’s almost the end of 2011 and time to say hello to 2012. We just wanted to wish you all a very happy New Year and say thanks for following our blog. We’ve also just spotted this dress from River Island, which is perfect if you haven’t got anything for the big night yet! Go on, treat yourself! x

Treat your skin and be kind to your waistline at the same time by using all your Christmas choccies to make a nourishing facemask! It’s that time of year when most of us are suffering from chocolate overload,  but by making your very own facemask with the dark stuff you’ll give your skin a boost and save on calories. 

To make your mask you’ll need one bar of dark chocolate, a cup of milk and 3 tbsp of salt. 

Firstly add mix the milk and salt in a bowl. Then melt your chocolate and mix everything together before leaving to cool until room temperature. Once it’s cooled, simply apply to your face, sit back and relax for 15-20 minutes before washing off with tepid water and cleanser. Voila, soft, divine smelling skin! x
