Recent research has revealed that there’s a clear North – South divide when it comes to makeup trends.

While girls in the North are happy to pile on the fake tan, makeup and eyelashes, girls in the South aim to achieve a more natural look.

The only exception to this trend is Essex, where the girls share the Northerner’s love of makeup.

The most popular product in the North is fake tan whereas tinted moisturiser is the product of choice in the South. X

Honey facial – messiest beauty treatment ever?

Special Chilean honey can make you look ten years younger!

We’ve heard of some bizarre beauty treatments in the past, but this latest craze has to be one of the messiest yet.

Apparently, more and more women in the quest for beautiful skin are turning to a special honey to give them the youthful-looking complexion they desire.

When applied to the skin, a particular type of Chilean honey can create a mask that can supposedly reverses the aging process by up to ten years.

The honey comes from the nectar of the Quillay, Tineo and Ulmo trees in the Valdivian rainforest in southern Chile. Unlike normal honey it is packed with vitamins and nutrients and naturally contains a small amount of hydrogen peroxide, which can break down scar tissue and make the skin more elastic.

It might work for some, but we’ll stick to spreading honey on our toast rather than our faces! x

Celebrities such as Madonna and Demi Moore supposedly drink coconut water by the gallon and new mum Miranda Kerr claimed that a diet rich in coconut oil helped her lose her baby weight. It’s also common knowledge that coconut oil does wonder for the skin.

Although it won’t work miracles, we think that using coconut oil, milk and water as part of our beauty regime is definitely worth a try! x

We all like to have radiant looking skin, but it seems that there are a growing number of bizarre beauty treatments that more and more women are having in their quest for a youthful appearance.

First there’s the Dracula facial, which involves taking blood from the person receiving the treatment and then injecting it back into them. it’s thought that this process boosts the natural production of collagen, which improves the structure of the skin.

Then there’s leech therapy, which sees people shaving their entire body and then getting into a bath full of the blood-sucking critters – all in the name of detoxing!

One of the strangest treatments has to be the venom facial. This involves rubbing special cream into your face that contains poison and venom, which are said to have wrinkle-busting properties.

We’ll just stick to cleansing and moisturising for the time being! x
